Number Square Games

Year 1

Here is your number homework. Please work on the activities below with an adult at home each week, to help you improve your number work.

 Your teacher will be checking this work in class, every Friday.

1) Week Commencing: 7/9/09

 

 

 

 

Ask an adult to say aloud random numbers from

 

 

1 to 10 e.g. 4, 7, 2, 9 etc.  Put a coin or counter on each number.

 

 

2) Week Commencing: 14/9/09

 

Ask an adult to say aloud random numbers from

 

1 to 20 e.g. 14, 8, 12, 18 etc.  Put a coin or counter on each number.

 

 

3) Week Commencing: 21/9/09

 

Ask an adult to say aloud a number up to 10 for you to find one more than… e.g. find one more than 6. 

 

  

4) Week Commencing: 28/9/09

 

Ask an adult to say aloud a number up to 10 for you to find

 

one less than… e.g. find one less than 9.

 

5) Week Commencing: 5/10/09

 

Ask an adult to say aloud a number up to 20 for you to find one more than… e.g. find one more than 14.

 

6) Week Commencing: 12/10/09

 

Ask an adult to say aloud a number up to 20 for you to find one less than… e.g. find one less than 17.

Ask an adult to say aloud a number up to 20 for you to find one more or less than… e.g. find one less than 9.  Listen carefully to the words more and less, because they will be mixed up.

Find the answers to these addition problems by starting on the first number and counting on the correct number of squares to find the answer.  Tell the adult you are working with each answer to see if you are correct…
