Sunnymede Infant School Uniform Guidelines

At Sunnymede Infant School we work hard together to create a good sense of community amongst pupils, parents/carers and staff.  Having a school uniform helps to foster this sense of community, as well as signalling that school is a distinct place with clear standards and expectations.  It can also help parents overcome the pressure on youngsters to conform to the latest fashion trend!

These guidelines are provided so that parents, pupils and staff are clear on what is and is not acceptable for school wear.

The School Uniform Shop is open :-

Tuesday to Thursday 9 - 9.30am

If these times are not convenient with you, order forms are available from the school office. These will be processed and you will be telephoned when the order is ready for collection and /or payment.

School Uniform Order Form can be found at bottom of this page.

Party shoes, flip-flops or sandals/shoes with a heel are not acceptable and may lead to accidents.

PE kit:

White polo shirt (PE)

Navy shorts or navy tracksuit bottoms (PE)

Black Velcro/slip on plimsolls (PE)

Please note that trainers are not acceptable for girls or boys and shoes should be restricted to the colour and styles noted. Trainers may be brought to school to change into at lunchtime.

Please try to ensure that hair accessories are kept to a minimum and are blue, black or white. We do recommend that girls with long hair wear it tied back to avoid accidents and head lice.

Polo shirts/jumpers/cardigans with the school logo can be purchased from the uniform shop in the junior school. We do encourage pupils to wear the school badge as part of the school identity.

One downside of school uniform is that all clothes look the same and we build up a huge pile of lost property at the end of each term. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including shoes are clearly labelled with your child’s full name. Labelling may need to be renewed at regular intervals, as names do tend to wear off in the wash!

Thank you for your cooperation.
